Caldereta Mix

Spicy sauce mix.
A mixture of western and oriental spices in just the right proportions make this a widely popular stew in the Philippines.

Store in a clean, cool and dry place.

Recipe for 10 servings:

1 Bag (50g) Mama Sita´s Caldereta Mix
1 kg beef cut into cubes of about 4 cm. It can be substituted for lamb or chicken.
190 g carrot cut into portions
190 g potatoes cut into portions
1 bell pepper cut into 4 cm triangles
100 g peas
28 g of pitted olives
2 cups (500 ml) of water
3 tablespoons (45ml) oil

1. Fry the meat in a pan until it is well browned.
2. Add water and bring to a boil. Cook over low heat until the meat is tender. Add more water if necessary.
3. Add Mama Sita´s Caldereta Mix and stir. Add the potatoes and carrots.
4. Finally, add the rest of the vegetables. Cook until done. Serve hot with rice.
