Sinigang Sa Sampalok mix

Prepared for Tamarind seasoning.
Naturally tart, green tamarind fruit makes our sinigang a truly refreshing treat.

Sinigang is a Filipino soup or stew that is characterized by its tart and flavorful taste. It is one of the most popular dishes in Philippine cuisine. It is frequently associated with tamarind (in Filipino sampalok), although other acidic fruits and leaves can be used as a souring agent.

Sinigang Recipe (for 8/10 servings)

1 bag (50 gr) Mama Sita´s Sinigang Sa Sampalok mix
1 kg of raw whole prawns
150 gr tomato cut into small pieces
90 gr onion cut into small pieces
200 gr green beans in 5 cm pieces
400 gr radish cut into slices
4 pieces of chilli
200 gr of leafy vegetables (spinach)
Fish sauce.

1. In a saucepan put water, tomato and onion and bring to a boil. Cook over low heat for 5 minutes.
2. Add Mama Sita's Sinigang Sa Sampalok mix, turn up the heat.
3. Add radish, green beans, chilli, and fish sauce (for flavor). Cover and cook for 5 minutes.
4. Add the prawns. Simmer 5 more minutes or until the prawns are cooked. Turn off the heat and add the leafy vegetables. Cover to cook in the steam.
5. Serve hot.
